Time Tracking
Time Tracking
Time logs capture how long you spent on tasks. Use them for estimate vs. actual, billing, and retrospectives.
How to Record
Task detail → Time Logs panel.
- Timer: start / pause / stop. Auto-saved on stop.
- Manual entry: type start/end times or a duration directly.
- Add a one-line note about what you did.
Estimate vs. Actual
- Set
estimatedHourswhen creating a task - Accumulated
actualHoursare compared automatically — shown as a donut/bar on the card - Large gaps inform retrospective decisions
Statistics
- Personal: total hours per day/week/month, plus distribution across projects and tasks
- Team: distribution by project and member (admin permission required)
Reports
Performance reports can include time-log-based metrics (optional). See Performance Reports.
Recommended Use
- Timers can be inaccurate with frequent context switching; prefer them for clearly bounded work.
- Use the meetings feature for meeting time; it's recorded more accurately there.
Next Steps
- Review estimate accuracy alongside other signals in Performance Reports.
