Custom Workflows

Every project needs its own workflow. Syno lets you edit states and transitions visually so the tool reflects how your team actually works.

Default Workflow

A new project ships with three states.

  1. To Do — Not started
  2. In Progress — Working
  3. Done — Completed

Each state has a category (TODO, IN_PROGRESS, DONE) used for stats and reports.

Adding and Reordering States

In Project Settings → Workflow:

  • Add a state: choose a color and category.
  • Drag: reorder states. The order defines the transition flow.
  • Delete: only available if no tasks are in that state.

Editing Allowed Transitions

Connect state nodes in the visual editor to define which state can move to which.

To Do → In Progress
In Progress → Review
Review → Done
Review → In Progress  (reject)

Undefined transitions are rejected at the API layer too, preserving data consistency.

  • Engineering: To Do · In Progress · Review · Done
  • Operations / CS: Received · Analyzing · Responding · Done · On hold
  • Design: Brief · Draft · Feedback · Approval · Done
